Experienced Trainers & Support Staff
Rick Garcia, an independent video artist, received a BA in Film & Video Studies and a BA in Journalism/Advertising from the University of Oklahoma before moving to New York where he trained as a video editor in Final Cut Pro at The New School and Film Video Arts. He worked professionally in production for Warner Brothers, AMC, Nickelodeon and MTV before moving to post. Before becoming a trainer at Final Cut Pro Classes, he worked in documentary film and music videos. He is credited for his Final Cut Pro work with directors Paul Devlin, Michael Donnelly, Thomas Card and Danny Clinch and on projects for such artists as Pearl Jam, John Mayer, Ryan Adams and Foo Fighters.
Peter Dant grew up and attended school in Ohio. After graduating from Fine Art School at the University of Cincinnati in 1992, he decided to pursue his photographic career in New York City. Over the next eight years, he worked for various commercial photography studios and labs both traditional and digital. New York is where he fine tuned all of his photographic and printing ability of established photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Ellen Von Unwerth, Peter learned technical and artistic skills on the job that helped formed his style. Since 1992, Peter has exhibited photographic artwork in over 14 gallery shows in the US and abroad.
John Burns has been an Avid Editor from 1992 - 1999 cutting commercials for advertising agencies such as Grey, McCann Erickson, Bates Worldwide to name just a few. He also taught Avid Media Composer for many years before turning his attentions to Final Cut Pro. He started working on Final Cut Pro as soon as the first version was released. His passion for training led him to establish Final Cut Pro Classes in 1999 emphasizing one on one training techniques.
Christopher Walsh is an experienced Art Director who has worked in several Advertising Agencies such as Tracy Locke Dallas and Frankel in Chicago. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California for Advertising Illustration and has his BA in Advertising from The Art Institute of Dallas. He has an excellent working knowledge of all the Adobe Suite. He currently works as a freelance Art Director in New York City.
